The digital photographic technology that I researched is the mirrorless camera.
"A mirrorless camera is a type of camera that works without a reflex mirror. Light passes through the lens directly to the digital sensor, which then displays your image on the camera’s LCD screen, allowing you to adjust settings and preview your image before its shot." In the article, Digital Camera World it says,
"Many of the latest and best mirrorless cameras offer more than just megapixels." The mirror was to bounce light but since the camera doesn't have a mirror it is exposed to light. The Benefits of this camera is that it is easy to carry around, higher shooting speed, silent mechanism, image stabilization, and electronic viewfinder.
In Professor Nordell's video,
Latest Updates With Photographic Technology and Photojournalism, he says that mirrorless cameras are “smaller, they’re lighter, they’re quieter.” These cameras will be good when starting out in the photography business, it isn't as complicated than other cameras. In another video of Professor Nordell,
Working in the Digital Age - Part 2, he says, "it's real easy to pick up a digital camera start shooting you can look at the back and know how your exposure is." There is no mirror so there is exposure of light, but in the camera we are able to see how exposed the photo is by the light before capturing it. In the
Weegee Tells How video, he says "Photography teaches you to think fast to be sure of yourself self-confidence." This is something that needs to be told to photographers a lot, you need to be confident of your work and think wast in order to your work out there.

When comparing and contrasting the mirrorless camera with the black and white film roll, I found out that a digital camera can capture in color and convert later. The black and white film roll has a lot of steps for the photographs, while now the mirrorless camera doesn't need that many steps to make great photo. Also the black and white film roll is more older than the mirrorless camera. |
