Working in the Digital Age

Image
The digital photographic technology that I researched is the mirrorless camera. "A mirrorless camera is a type of camera that works without a reflex mirror. Light passes through the lens directly to the digital sensor, which then displays your image on the camera’s LCD screen, allowing you to adjust settings and preview your image before its shot ." In the article, Digital Camera World it says, "Many of the latest and best mirrorless cameras offer more than just megapixels." The mirror was to bounce light but since the camera doesn't have a mirror it is exposed to light. The Benefits of this camera is that it is easy to carry around, higher shooting speed, silent mechanism, image stabilization, and electronic viewfinder. Photo by Phil Ryan      In Professor Nordell's video, Latest Updates With Photographic Technology and Photojournalism , he says that mirrorless cameras are “smaller, they’re lighter, they’re quieter.” These cameras will be good wh

Is Photojournalism Art?

Photo by: Bettman Image Source:   https://stacker.com/stories/4000/50-photos-american-life-19th-century Year Created: 1890 Is the image black & white or color? : It looks like they didn't have a choice to put color or black and white. It is good that it is in black and white you can see all the details that you wouldn't really see in color. What feelings does the image create?: This image made me feel happy. I love the beach I love seeing little kids running, laughing, and just having fun. What really grabbed my attention was the people on the right walking in the water. I think I looked at this photo more than 8 times and just enjoying the background, the umbrellas, and the water. Texture: I see two different textures shiny and wet. That is the water and it bring the feeling of reality at least to me. There could also be some rough on the sand with the seaweed.  Why did I choose the image?: I chose this image because it caught my eye. It has a vintage look and it remi

Pre-Digital Photographic Technology

The pre-digital photographic technology I chose is the black and white roll film. Black and White films have been around for a good amount of time. "Black and White Cinema is the first study to consider the use of black-and-white as an art form in its own right, providing a comprehensive and global overview of the era when it flourished, from the 1900s to the 1960s." Depending on putting an image with color or black and white, it can effect the way the photo looks. In How-To Geek it says color can make it look "surreal" and black and white could make it "stand out more". There is 6 steps in order for the black and white roll film to work. The first step is turning off the lights, you need to make sure it is really dark in the room you will be in. Second step is to load the film into the tank. Third step mix the chemicals, that depends on which film roll you get they might need different chemicals. Fourth step is develop the film, this is when you add th

Can Photographs Change the World?

Image
Can Photographs change the world? I think that photography has a big part in this world. If there weren't photographs people wouldn’t understand what they were reading. Photographs have been found not only in newspapers, magazines, books, but also on billboards, fast food places, restaurants, and so much more. This can help someone who is new to the country and doesn't know much of the language or they don’t know what the food is. A photo can educate them way more than just reading words. This photo below is a photo from 9/11. There are people running away from the pile of smoke coming from the twin towers. Even though I was very young at the time I couldn’t believe my eyes that something like this had happened. And every 9/11 everyone would remind each other of that horrible day. It was so sad and so many people passed away. I think that this really affected a lot of people. Not only people who were there but also the families, friends of those people. Just knowing if som
